SAINT PETER, Minn. -- The Lawrence University women's tennis team competed at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional over the weekend and faced some tough competition.
  Top singles player
Clara Hills won her opening match with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Sophia Cosgrove of the College of St. Scholastica. Hills was then defeated by Caitlyn Stadter of UW-La Crosse 6-0, 6-2.

Anna Vanden Acker also played in the top singles draw and was defeated by UW-Whitewater's Kaitlyn Remke 6-1, 6-2 in her opening match.

Logan Kane, Lawrence's top doubles team, dropped an 8-2 decision to Tasha Bailey and Shelby Roth of La Crosse. Hills and
Tess McGlenn were defeated 8-3 by Whitewater's Molly Asfeld and Crystina Lee in their opening match.
  Several Vikings competed in the Midwest Invitational, a companion event to the regional also hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College.
  In singles play, Kane opened with an 8-1 victory over St. Scholastica's Greta Clark. Kane then fell to Gustavus Adolphus' Melat Tabara 8-2. McGlenn dropped her opening match when she lost to Anna Key of Gustavus Adolphus 8-2.Â

Evie Vacek opened play with an 8-2 victory over Rose Burrows of Macalester College, and that was Vacek's first collegiate singles victory. Vacek was then defeated 8-4 by UW-Eau Claire's Ava Pellegrino.
Rachael Pofahl dropped an 8-1 decision to Sailor Mohlenbrock of Bethany Lutheran College in her first match.
  Vacek and
Madelena Priest were Lawrence's lone doubles team in the Midwest Invitational. Vacek and Priest fell 6-0 to La Crosse's Lauren Lindow and Zoe Klicker in their opening match.
