Vikings have strong showing at UWO Meet

OSHKOSH, Wis.-- The Lawrence University men's and women's track and field teams traveled and competed against a strong field at the UW Oshkosh Celebration of John Zupanc Alumni & Friends Meet inside the Kolf Sports Center. The Vikings produced several standout performances throughout the day, highlighted by three first-place finishes on the women's side.

The Lawrence women were led by victories in both distance events and the field. Second year runner Lillian Courtnage-Dyke captured the top spot in the 3000-meter run, winning the event in 10:29.02. Sophomore Mila Westra followed with a first-place finish of her own in the mile, crossing the line in 5:17.79. In the field events, senior Morgan Cross claimed first place in the long jump with a mark of 13-07.50 (4.15m).

Additional strong performances for the women included Elena Hartung, who placed third in the 200-meter dash, while Izzy Baumgardt and Jorja Miller also recorded top-six finishes in the event. In the high jump, Jacqui Malm earned a second-place finish, and Ashlee Long added a fourth-place result. Anna Vanden Acker led the Vikings in the triple jump with a third-place finish. Lawrence also saw solid efforts in the throws from Alease McLain, Greta Vianden, and Mackenzie Schuh, and the women's 4x400 relay team finished fourth overall.

On the men's side, Lawrence showcased depth in the distance events. Finn Lee placed second in the 3000-meter run, followed closely by teammates Nick Hansen in third and Caleb Hardy in fourth. In the mile, sophomore Zach Meyer turned in a third-place finish to lead the Vikings.

The men also added strong performances across the sprints and field events. Tristan Zook finished sixth in the 60-meter dash finals, while Benjamin Baldwin placed sixth in the 200-meter dash. In the field, Peyton Mueller recorded a fifth-place finish in the high jump, and Werner Norrbom competed in the pole vault. In the throws, Connor Skarsten and Jack McLaughlin posted top-seven finishes in both the weight throw and shot put. The Lawrence men capped the meet with a sixth-place finish in the 4x400 relay.
