APPLETON, Wis. — Lawrence (12-11, 5-9 Midwest Conference) secured a decisive 78-61 victory over Illinois College (10-13, 7-7 Midwest Conference) on Saturday at Alexander Gym. The Vikings controlled the game with a strong second half, outscoring the Blueboys 41-31 after the break.
Lawrence opened the first half with a balanced attack, matching Illinois College point-for-point early on.
Caleb Nash and
Casey Schoenecker contributed with key plays in the paint, while
Hogan Demovsky and
CJ Campbell connected on perimeter shots to keep the scoring pace. The Vikings demonstrated effective ball movement, tallying nine assists and out-rebounding their opponent by a narrow margin.
In the latter part of the half, Lawrence capitalized on fast breaks and second-chance opportunities, extending their lead with a 13–4 run. Despite Illinois College's attempts to close the gap with 3-point shooting, the Vikings maintained control.
