BELOIT, Wis. — Lawrence University (13-11, 6-9 Midwest Conference) secured a decisive 77-58 victory over Beloit College (5-19, 0-15 Midwest Conference) on Wednesday night at Flood Arena. The Vikings dominated in the paint, scoring 50 points inside while limiting Beloit to just 12 points in the same area.
Lawrence started strong in the first half, leveraging a powerful inside game to score 24 points in the paint. The team maintained a steady pace, highlighted by consistent contributions from
Casey Schoenecker and
Nicholas Gouriotis. The Vikings' defense limited Beloit to a low shooting percentage of 32% overall from the field, while
CJ Campbell added crucial points and defensive rebounds to sustain momentum.
Throughout the half, Lawrence effectively converted free throws, going 11-for-13, which contributed to maintaining their lead. The team also capitalized on fast-break opportunities, scoring 4 points in transition. By the end of the half, Lawrence led Beloit 41-31, establishing a solid advantage heading into the next half.
