Women's Recap
Mila Westra delivered the premier performance of the weekend on Friday in the women's 800 meters, clocking a 2:14.90 to break her own school record set one year ago. The sophomore lowered her previous mark and finished 19th overall in a deep invitational field featuring athletes from multiple NCAA divisions.
Westra returned to the track Saturday to compete in the 400 meters, posting a time of 1:00.65 to cap her two-day effort.
First-year Jacqui Malm represented Lawrence in the high jump during Saturday competition.
Men's Recap
On the men's side, Zach Meyer etched his name into the Lawrence record book Saturday in the 800 meters. Meyer crossed the finish line in 1:54.01, breaking the previous school record and delivering one of the top performances of the weekend for the Vikings. In the mile, sophomore Nick Hansen turned in a time of 4:20.14.
First-year Peyton Mueller competed in two field events, clearing 1.87 meters in the high jump before adding a 5.92-meter mark in the long jump. Junior Jack McLaughlin competed in both throwing events, recording a mark of 12.07 meters in the shot put and 13.88Â meters in the weight throw.
