BELOIT, Wis. — Lawrence (19-5, 12-3 Midwest Conference) defeated Beloit College (6-18, 3-12 Midwest Conference), 74-55, at Flood Arena, dominating with 48 points in the paint.
Lawrence began the first quarter with strong defensive pressure, generating eight steals and converting nine points off turnovers. This defensive tenacity helped the Vikings build momentum early on, highlighted by
Sophie Morey's layups that opened the scoring. The team extended its lead with a three-pointer by
Kate Adams, assisted by
Josie Eager, and maintained control throughout the quarter.Â
The Buccaneers managed to score only four points, struggling against Lawrence's defense. The Vikings capitalized on their opportunities in the paint, scoring 10 points, and closed the quarter with a fastbreak layup by Eager, leading 16-4 at the end of the first quarter.
Lawrence started the second quarter with momentum, highlighted by
Josie Chose's fast-break layup at 9:24 following an assist from
Olivia Kesti. The team maintained its presence in the paint, scoring 10 points there, with contributions from Morey and
Charlotte Brennan. Despite being outscored in the quarter, the Vikings controlled the boards, securing a total of 14 rebounds, including seven offensive rebounds, which provided additional scoring opportunities.
Lawrence's defense stayed active, recording two blocks and two steals, contributing to a balanced effort on both ends of the court. Adams added a critical three-point play at 4:52 to extend the lead briefly. The quarter closed with Lawrence maintaining its advantage, leading 31–21 overall.

Lawrence started the fourth quarter with a strong defensive presence, highlighted by

The Vikings sustained their pressure with key plays from

Maggie Jarzemsky's defensive rebound and subsequent layup at 0:46 capped off Lawrence's scoring efforts. Despite the Buccaneers' attempts to narrow the gap, Lawrence closed the game with a 74-55 victory, outscoring Beloit 21-18 in the final quarter.
