OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Lawrence University men's and women's track & field teams turned in a record-setting performance Saturday at the Titan Challenge hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh inside Kolf Sports Center. The Vikings broke two school records on the women's side while adding numerous competitive finishes throughout the lineup.
Women's Recap
Lawrence was led by a historic performance from first-year standout Lillian Courtnage-Dyke, who placed second in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:10.07, breaking the previous Lawrence indoor record in the event. Courtnage-Dyke's effort established a new program standard and highlighted a strong day for the distance group.
The Vikings added another record in the 4x400-meter relay. The quartet of Elena Hartung, Gaby Skorczewski, Mila Westra and Faith Onukaogu finished second overall in 4:08.14, setting a new Lawrence indoor school record in the process. In addition to the record-breaking performances, Lawrence received several key contributions across the track. In the 200 meters, Jorja Miller clocked 27.97. Clara Lyford ran 1:06.06 in the 400 meters before also competing in the pole vault, where she cleared 9-2¼ (2.80m). In the mile, Laura Henze posted a time of 5:36.02. Lawrence also saw competitive efforts in the hurdles and sprints, with Elena Hartung racing to 9.52 in the 60-meter hurdles preliminaries, while Gisselle Reyes competed in both the 60 meters and long jump, adding a mark of 11-7 (3.53m) in the long jump.
In the field events, Ashlee Long cleared 4-6¾ (1.39m) in the high jump, and Anna Vanden Acker recorded a triple jump of 30-7½ (9.33m). The throwing events provided strong depth, led by Alease McLain, who took 10th in the shot put at 36-4 (11.07m) and added a toss of 42-11 (13.08m) in the weight throw. Greta Vianden (41-2¼ / 12.55m), RyLeigh Truchon (37-10¾ / 11.55m) and Mackenzie Schuh (36-3 / 11.05m) also contributed solid marks in the weight throw.
Men's Recap
On the track, Benjamin Baldwin led the way in the 200 meters with a time of 23.28, followed closely by Tristan Zook at 23.40. Cannon Smithers competed in both the 60 meters (7.63) and 200 meters (24.14), showing versatility in the sprint group. In the middle distances, Ryan Draginis paced Lawrence in the 800 meters with a 2:04.65 effort, while Ryan Keller (2:09.02) and Elek Anderson (2:10.86) added solid runs.
The Vikings' distance crew turned in a strong collective showing in the 3,000 meters. Max Reemtsma led the group with a 9:10.74 performance, followed by Caleb Hardy (9:25.75), Francis Alexander (9:45.37), Leigham Alexander (9:50.77), Reuben Keuler (9:55.58), Wesley Wiesner (10:25.84) and Will Beaumont (10:36.04). In the hurdles, Brendan Cross competed in the 60-meter hurdles.
The field events produced multiple top-tier finishes. Leo Hagberg delivered one of the Vikings' top placements of the day, finishing fifth in the triple jump at 41-8 (12.70m). Jacob Johnson added a seventh-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 20-4¼ (6.20m) and later competed in the triple jump. Peyton Mueller also contributed in the triple jump.
In the throws, Connor Skarsten led Lawrence in the shot put with a toss of 44-6 (13.56m) and added a mark of 41-2¼ (12.55m) in the weight throw. Jack McLaughlin (38-3¼ / 11.66m in shot put; 44-11½ / 13.70m in weight throw) and Corbin Schneider (37-9½ / 11.52m in shot put; 36-6¼ / 11.13m in weight throw) provided additional depth, while JC Arocho competed in the shot put.
