Herr Nets Hat Trick as Vikings Battle Foresters

LAKE FOREST, Ill. — Brody Herr powered the Lawrence University men's lacrosse offense Saturday afternoon, recording a hat trick as the Vikings battled in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play at Lake Forest.

Lawrence found its first offensive breakthrough midway through the opening quarter. Emmett Eischens set up Joe McCabe for a goal that cut into the early deficit and sparked the Vikings' attack.

The Vikings continued to generate opportunities throughout the first half. Eischens later added a goal of his own in the second quarter as Lawrence worked to keep pace heading into halftime.

Lawrence pushed back in the second half with several strong offensive sequences. Herr opened the Vikings' scoring in the third quarter and continued to be a focal point of the attack as Lawrence looked to build momentum.

Herr struck twice more to complete his hat trick, including a fourth-quarter goal assisted by Robbie Spielmann. Eamon Tegenfeldt-Pfohman also added a goal for the Vikings during the second-half push.

Herr led Lawrence with three goals, while McCabe, Eischens, and Tegenfeldt-Pfohman each contributed a goal. Eischens also added an assist, and Spielmann recorded an assist while helping drive the Vikings' offensive pressure.

In goal, Gavin Reiter made seven saves in the first half before Tyler Graham added seven more stops after halftime as the Vikings continued to battle defensively.
