Neenah, Wis. – The Lawrence University women's tennis team fell 7-0 to University of Wisconsin–Stevens Pointon Sunday.
Stevens Point gained early momentum by sweeping doubles play. At No. 1, Clara Hills and Sky Shinohara battled in a tight 7-5 decision. Anna Vanden Acker and Madelena Priest fell 6-2 at No. 2, while Maddie Bublik and Rachael Pofahl were defeated 6-2 at No. 3.
In singles action, Stevens Point secured the match with wins across the lineup.
Clara Hills fell 6-0, 6-0 at the top position, while Anna Vanden Acker dropped a 6-1, 6-3 decision at No. 2. Sky Shinohara was defeated 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3.
Rachael Pofahl fell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4, Madelena Priest dropped a 6-0, 6-0 result at No. 5, and Evie Vacek was defeated 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
Lawrence continued to compete throughout the lineup despite the final result as the Vikings completed the first dual of their Sunday slate.
