Mount Vernon, Iowa — The Lawrence University baseball team delivered a dominant performance on Saturday, defeating Cornell College 11-1 in Midwest Conference action.
The Vikings broke the game open in the middle innings, plating three runs in the third and adding another in the fourth before erupting for four more in the fifth to seize control.
Lawrence totaled 12 hits on the day, with Sage Beebe-Jenny leading the way with two hits and two RBIs. Steven Baudendistel added two RBIs, while Boris Christensen, Dylan Keelan, and Nathan Depew each drove in runs as part of a balanced offensive effort.
On the mound, Conner Robertson earned the win, tossing 4.1 innings while allowing just one run. Nick Katz closed the door with 2.2 scoreless innings in relief.
Defensively, the Vikings were sharp, limiting Cornell to just five hits while capitalizing on multiple defensive miscues by the Rams.
