DECATUR, Ill. ā Lawrence University (1-2) fell to Millikin University (7-3) with a final score of 12-1 on Saturday. The Vikings managed just one hit while committing three errors, as the Big Blue capitalized with a nine-run second inning.
Lawrence opened the scoring in the second inning when
Sage Beebe-Jenny reached on a throwing error, advanced to third on a groundout, and scored on
Myles Brincks' groundout, giving the Vikings an early lead. However, Millikin responded with a significant offensive push. Easton Steck scored on a throwing error, followed by Pete Britton's two-run double, which contributed to a nine-run inning for the Big Blue. Lawrence trailed 9-1 by the end of the second inning.
In the third inning, Millikin extended its lead. Leyton Ivers doubled and later scored on a throwing error, adding another run for the Big Blue. The scoreboard read 10-1 in favor of Millikin after three innings.
The fourth inning saw Millikin continue to capitalize on the Vikings' defensive miscues. Julian Cabanin scored on a wild pitch, and Kameron Ross singled to bring in another run, increasing Millikin's lead to 12-1 through four innings.

Liam Shackleton started for the Vikings, pitching 1 2/3 innings and allowing nine runs on six hits, while striking out two and walking four.
Max Huddleston came in relief, throwing 3 1/3 innings and surrendering three earned runs on six hits, with five flyouts and five groundouts.
Julius Christensen finished the game, pitching an inning and allowing one hit and a hit-by-pitch, keeping the scoreless streak intact during his appearance.
