Fond Du Lac Wis.---Lawrence University men's lacrosse delivered a historic performance on Wednesday night, rolling to a dominant 16-4 victory over Marian to secure the program's first-ever NACC Tournament berth in just its second season.
The Vikings wasted no time setting the tone, exploding for five goals in the opening quarter and never looking back. Lawrence controlled every phase of the game, outshooting Marian 45-12 while dictating possession throughout the night.
A balanced offensive attack powered the Vikings, with Emmett Eischens and Owen Debbert each recording hat tricks to lead the way. Joe McCabe turned in a standout all-around performance with two goals and three assists, while Judah Goehring and Brody Herr each added a pair of goals.
Lawrence's depth was on full display, with nine different players finding the back of the net in a relentless offensive showing. The Vikings built a commanding 9-2 lead at halftime before continuing to pull away in the second half.
Defensively, Lawrence was just as sharp, forcing 38 turnovers and winning the ground ball battle 48-27. The Vikings also dominated at the faceoff X, going 16-for-24 to consistently control possession and tempo.
The win marks a major milestone for the program, as the Vikings punch their ticket to the NACC Tournament for the first time in program history, an impressive achievement in just year two for this young and hungry Vikings squad.Â
