Lawrence cruises past Marian for 7-0 win

FOND DU LAC, Wis. — The Lawrence University women's tennis team turned in a dominant performance Tuesday, sweeping Marian University 7-0 at Fond du Lac High School.

Lawrence claimed all three doubles matches before winning each of the six singles contests in straight sets.

Arisa McCullough and Madelena Priest delivered the first point of the match with a 6-0 victory over Angela Barrass and Kendall Pemberton at No. 3 doubles.

Tess McGlenn and Sky Shinohara followed with a 6-1 victory over Jennifer Pierga and Hannah Bade at No. 2. Clara Hills and Logan Kane completed the doubles sweep by defeating Jillian Traver and Monserrat Luquin 6-2 at the top spot.

McCullough carried the momentum into singles play and defeated Barrass 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5. Rachel Pofahl followed with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Pemberton at No. 6.

McGlenn also posted a perfect result at No. 3 singles, defeating Bade 6-0, 6-0. Shinohara earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Pierga at No. 4.

Hills topped Luquin 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1, and Kane completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Traver at No. 2.
