APPLETON, Wis. -- The Beloit College men's soccer team scored in the 30th minute Saturday and hung on for a 1-0 Midwest Conference victory over Lawrence University on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.

Jonathan Palmer scored off an assist from Jason Venzke to put the Bucs ahead with 15-plus minutes left in the first half.

Jere Bauer made seven saves to get the shutout for Beloit (5-10-1, 2-6-1 MWC). AJ Bryant stopped five shots for Lawrence (2-14-1, 0-8-1).

Lawrence had a 14-13 edge in shots for the match.
