Todd's long-distance blast sinks Bucs

Box Score

APPLETON, Wis. -- Mark Todd's first-half scoring blast was the difference Saturday as the Lawrence University men's soccer team posted a 1-0 Midwest Conference victory over Beloit College on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.

Todd's rocket from 35 yards out found the back of the net at the 11:59 mark for the lone goal of the contest. It was Todd's second goal of the season and his second game-winner of the season. Todd won the ball from a Beloit defender and let loose with a shot from the right-center area of the field. His blast to the upper corner beat Beloit goalkeeper Luis Rodriguez.

Lawrence goalkeeper Hunter Lanton stopped six shots to record the shutout. Rodriguez made six saves for Beloit. Lawrence enjoyed a 15-12 edge in shots.

The Vikings improved to 7-4-1 overall and 4-1-0 in the Midwest Conference.
