APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's tennis team downed Monmouth College 6-3 in a Midwest Conference match on Saturday at the Lawrence Courts.
The Vikings got off to a good start with victories at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles. The No. 1 team of Margot Connor and Emma Koppa were 8-2 winners, and the No. 3 team of Lauren Aturaliya and Amelia Watson won 8-3.
Aturaliya was then a 6-3, 6-1 winner at No. 2 singles. Koppa rolled to a 6-4, 6-0 winner at No. 3, and Amelia Waston picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 5. Jacki Healy completed the scoring with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6 for the Vikings.
Lawrence improved to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the MWC. Monmouth fell to 1-4 and 1-2 in the league.
