MIDDLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's tennis team dropped a 5-1 decision to Lake Forest College on Friday in the semifinals of the Midwest Conference Tournament.
  The Vikings were playing in the four-team tournament, with the winner receiving a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament, for the second consecutive year at Hitters SportsPlex.
  The doubles matches were first, and Lawrence (5-6) picked up a victory at No. 3. The team of
Morgan Fisher and
Anna Vanden Acker trailed 6-5 in the eight-game pro set before rallying. Vanden Acker and Fisher won two of the next three games to even the match at 7-7 and force a tiebreaker. The Lawrence duo then won the tiebreaker 7-4.
  The Vikings trailed 2-1 heading into the singles matches, and Lake Forest (9-4) won at Nos. 1, 2 and 6 singles to close out the match. Lake Forest faces top-seed Grinnell College for the tournament title.
  Lawrence will compete in the Midwest Conference Championships on Saturday and Sunday as the league determines its singles and doubles champions at Nielsen Tennis Stadium on the University of Wisconsin campus.
