APPLETON, Wis. -- Four Lawrence University players have been chosen for the American Baseball Coaches Association All-Region 9 team.
  Senior outfielder
Jacob Charon (Kenosha, Wis./St. Joseph) was a first-team pick, and
Quinn Berglin (Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee),
Taylor Freeman (Missouri City, Texas/Houston Christian) and
Parker Knoll (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) were all selected for the third team.
  Also a first-team all-region pick by D3baseball.com, Charon hit .400 with seven doubles, one triple, 20 home runs and 61 runs batted in. Charon had a stellar .893 slugging percentage and .497 on-base percentage, and that translates into a 1.394 OPS.Â
  Charon shattered the Lawrence season records for home runs and RBIs and also is Lawrence's career home run leader. He ranks second in all of NCAA Division III at 0.54 home runs per game and ranks fourth at 1.65 RBIs per contest.
  The Midwest Conference Position Player of the Year, Charon had four multi-homer games and homered in 16 of 37 games. He also was incredibly consistent throughout the season with his longest homerless streak being a mere six games. He also homered in four consecutive games at one point. Charon drove in a career-best five runs in three different games and drove in a run in 24 of 37 games. His high water mark for hits was a 4-for-5 performance against Grinnell College.
  Charon also proved to be a factor on the basepaths as he stole 15 bases in 17 attempts, and the 15 steals also is a career high.
  Berglin, a 2022 second-team pick by D3baseball.com, posted a 6-2 record with a school-record 2.29 earned run average in 10 starts. Opponents hit just .218 against him, and Berglin allowed just nine extra-base hits on the season.
  Berglin, who ranked in the top 50 in the nation in ERA, gave up 47 hits over 63 innings, an average of 6.7 hits over nine innings. The sophomore right-hander also struck out 55 batters for a rate of 7.9 strikeouts per nine innings.
  The Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Year, Berglin tossed a pair of shutouts on the season. He shut down Grinnell on three hits while striking out a career-high 11 in an 11-0 victory over the Pioneers. He also shut out Illinois College on four hits in a 3-0 victory. Berglin gave up a career-low one hit over eight innings in a 5-0 victory over Beloit College.Â
  Freeman was an immediate starter at second base during his rookie season in 2022. He hit .359 with 17 doubles, seven homers, 34 RBIs and 32 runs scored. A first-team All-Midwest Conference selection, Freeman also swiped 12 bases.Â
  Freeman posted a season-best four hits twice during the season, vs. Illinois College and the University of Chicago. Freeman, who put together a 10-game hit streak during the season, hit a season-high two homers at Grinnell and posted a season-best two doubles in three games.
  Knoll was stellar batting the lead-off spot in the Lawrence order. The first-year center fielder hit a team-high .402 with 13 doubles, five triples, two homers and 27 RBIs. Knoll set Lawrence season records with 66 hits and 53 runs scored.Â
  The Midwest Conference Newcomer of the Year, Knoll hit safely in 34 of 38 games and had a 14-game hit streak at one point. Knoll had a season-best four hits and four runs scored in games against both Cornell College and Beloit College. He also notched a Lawrence game record with four doubles against Beloit.
    An absolute terror on the bases, Knoll swiped a school-record 35 bases in his rookie season.
  Knoll was steady and spectacular defensively in center field with a .980 fielding percentage. He made a stellar catch for the final out in the Midwest Conference Tournament championship game against Chicago and made a jaw-dropping diving grab in the NCAA Division III regional game against UW-Stevens Point.
  Lawrence finished the season with a 26-13 record and won the Midwest Conference title for the first time since 1980. Lawrence also won the Midwest Conference Tournament and qualified for the NCAA Division III regional for the first time since 1979.
