APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's tennis team grabbed a pair of matches from defending Midwest Conference champion Grinnell College on Saturday at the Lawrence Courts.
  The Pioneers swept the doubles matches, but Lawrence took victories at Nos. 4 and 5 singles in Grinnell's 7-2 win.Â

Chloe Lamb won a tough battle against Ananya Manchanda at No. 4. Lamb won the opening set 6-3 but dropped the second 6-4. Lamb then raced out to a 4-0 win in the super-tiebreaker before taking the match with a 10-8 win in the tiebreaker.

Anna Vanden Acker accounted for the Vikings' other point with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Josephine Blumenthal at No. 5.
  Lawrence is now 1-1 in league play and 2-4 overall. Grinnell remains perfect in league play at 3-0.
