WAUKESHA, Wis. -- The Lawrence University swimming teams opened their season Saturday by winning three of four in the Carroll University Double Dual.
  The Lawrence men swept as the Vikings defeated MSOE 121-68 and downed Carroll 119-61. The Lawrence women defeated MSOE 129-68, and Carroll topped the Vikings 120-80.

Will Phillips won a pair of events as he grabbed first in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.00 seconds and raced to victory in the 100 freestyle in 50.48 seconds.

Keegan Mencke also was a double winner for the Vikings as he took the top spot in the 200 individual medley in 2:11.27 and first in the 500 freestyle in 5:17.10.
Farren Klockow took second in the 500 freestyle in 5:31.91.

Michael Thorson won the 1,000 freestyle in 10:46.31 and took second in the 100 backstroke in 58.41 seconds.
Aaron Harris raced to first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:07.36, and Thorson was second in 1:07.41.

Sebastian Stacey won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:56.49 and raced to second in the 100 butterfly in 59.94 seconds.
  The men's 200 medley relay team swam to victory in 1:44.59.
  The Lawrence women swept the top three spots in the 100 breaststroke as Stella Macfarlane won the event in 1:16.70. Kiran Jayasingle was second in 1:18.37 and Katarina Stanley took third in 1:19.54.
  Irina Starostin won the 100 butterfly in 1:03.09 and grabbed second in the 50 freestyle in 26.62 seconds. Emily Hornung took second in the 200 freestyle in 2:13.85, and Kylie White was second in the 100 backstroke in 1:10.39.
    Macfarlane was second in the 200 individual medley in 2:28.32, and the women's 200 medley relay team took second in 2:03.75.
