KENOSHA, Wis. -- Sean McLaughlin paced the Lawrence University throwers Friday as they competed at the Parkside Classic at UW-Parkside.
    McLaughlin won both the shotput and the weight throw at the Petretti Fieldhouse. McLaughlin was first in the shot with a toss of 38 feet, 7.5 inches, and teammate Ian Thomas was second at 35-5.75. 
    McLaughlin also grabbed first in the weight throw with a heave of 43-6. 
    On the women's side, Myra Johnson was the top finisher for the Vikings as she took second in the shotput with a throw of 34-4.75. Grace Fox took fifth in the event at 30-3, and Aparna Gajulapalli was eighth at 26-7.75. 
    Gajulapalli led the Vikings with a fourth-place finish in the weight throw with a distance of 37-6.25. Fox was fifth at 36-6.25 and Johnson was sixth at 34-1.25.
    Lawrence returns to competition on Saturday when the Vikings travel to UW-Oshkosh for the Titan Challenge.
