OSHKOSH, Wis. --
Edythmae Frodl ran to victory Saturday to lead the Lawrence University track and field teams at the Titan Challenge.
Frodl raced away to the win in the 5,000 meters at Kolf Sports Center on the UW-Oshkosh campus with a time of 19:28.32. Frodl won the event by 49 seconds, and teammate
Aasma Haider took third in 20:59.25.
The Lawrence women also grabbed second place in the 4x400-meter relay. The team of Berekely Krell,
Emily Sugiyama,
Faith Onukaogu and
Lilia Bodnar raced to the runner-up spot in 4:22.31. Lawrence's "B" team of
Claire Paquin, Jacey Stanich,
Mollie Davis and
Jasmine Moldenhauer took fourth in 4:39.46.
Lawrence's other top individual finishes on the women's side came from
Mariana Zendejas and
Riley Winebrenner. Zendejas grabbed seventh in teh triple jump with a leap of 33 feet, 8 inches. Winebrenner won her heat and placed eighth overall in the 3,000 with a time of 10:47.22.
The Lawrence women placed seventh in the team standings with 27 points.
David Benjamin led the way for the Lawrence men. Benjamin grabbed fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 41-3.75, and teammate Will Eggert was right behind him in fifth with a leap of 41-1.75.
Benjamin also was part of Lawrence's 4x400 relay team that placed sixth. Benjamin teamed with Marcus Jackson, Connor Myatt and Bergen Thorson for a time of 3:37.86.
The Lawrence men finished seventh in the team standings with 12 points.
