JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- Lawrence University track and field standout
Cristyn Oliver broke a school record Saturday at the Midwest Conference Championships but came up just short in her quest for a second league title this weekend.
  Oliver shattered her own school mark in the 3,000 meters and ran to second place in 10:23.20. Oliver, who was the runner-up in the event to Grinnell College's Keely Miyamoto (10:18.91), shaved more than seven seconds off her record of 10:30.32 set in 2022.
  Lawrence had a second runner place in the event as
Riley Winebrenner took fifth in 10:39.59.
  Lawrence also grabbed a second-place finish in the distance medley relay. The team of Oliver,
Madeline Taylor,
Faith Onukaogu and
Berkeley Krell was second in 12:50.27. Ripon College took the top spot in 12:43.32.
  The 4x400-meter relay team of Krell, Onukaogu,
Emily Sugiyama and
Lilia Bodnar grabbed fourth place in 4:17.67. Krell also posted a top individual finish as she took seventh in teh 800 in 2:33.34.

Irene Yank had a good day for the Vikings as she placed in a pair of events. Yank took third in the triple jump with a leap of 33 feet, 5.25 inches. Teammate
Mariana Zendejas was right behind her in fourth place with a distance of 33-4.5.Â
  Yank also led a pair of Lawrence placewinners in the 60 hurdles. Yank took fifth in 9.97 seconds, and teammate
Claire Paquin was sixth in 10.21 seconds.
  Lawrence was fifth in the team standings with 76 points.
  On the men's side, the distance medley relay led the way for the Vikings. The team of Connor Myatt, Marcus Jackson, Bergen Thorson and Ray Wetzel-Meehan grabbed third place in 10:55.93.
  Lawrence had two placewinners in the triple jump with David Benjamin leading the way. Benjamin finished fifth with a jump of 43-1, and Will Eggert grabbed seventh at 41-11.25.
  The other top individual finisher for the Vikings was Greyson Schneider, who was sixth in the 60 hurdles in 9.50 seconds.
  Lawrence's 4x400 relay team of Benjamin, Myatt, Jackson and Thorson finished eighth with a time of 3:38.39.
  The Vikings were eighth in the team standings with 37 points.
