APPLETON, Wis. -- The record-setting day by Lawrence University baseball player
Taylor Freeman has earned him Midwest Conference Player of the Week honors.
  Freeman (Missouri City, Texas/Houston Christian) picked up the award after setting Lawrence and Midwest Conference records this past week.
  The sophomore infielder went 7-for-7 in the Vikings' 17-14 victory at Carthage College. He broke the Midwest Conference record for hits in a game, which was held by seven players with six hits. The Lawrence record was five hits in a game, and that was held by more than a dozen players.
  Freeman powered his way to the seven-hit day with two homers and two doubles to go along with three singles. He drove in six runs in the contest and scored four runs.
  Freeman batted .579 for the week as he went 11-for-19 in four games, which also included a three-game series against the University of Chicago. Freeman finished the week with two homers, three doubles, seven runs batted in and seven runs scored. He posted a 1.053 slugging percentage and a 1.672 OPS.
  This is the second Midwest Conference Player of the Week for Freeman, an all-conference and all-region selection in 2022. He earned the weekly honor on April 11, 2022. This is the fifth weekly honor of the season for the Vikings.

Edan Perez also earned Player of the Week honors, and
Quinn Berglin was twice named Pitcher of the Week.Â
