APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's tennis team battled hard Tuesday, but fell 8-1 to UW-Oshkosh in a nonconference match at the Lawrence Courts.
  Lawrence picked up one victory during the singles competition as sophomore
Anna Vanden Acker downed Alysa Pattee 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2. Lawrence's No. 1 singles player,
Chloe Lamb, hung tough against talented first-year player Olivia Pethan, who took a 6-4, 6-3 victory.
  Lamb and
Claire Bildsten also put together a strong effort at No. 2 doubles. Lamb and Bildsten came back to tie the pro set at 7-7 and force a tiebreaker. Oshkosh's team of Ella Nguyen and Courtney Carpenter pulled out a 9-7 victory in the tiebreaker.
  Lawrence is 0-3 on the season, and Oshkosh improved to 2-1.
