RIPON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University swimming and diving teams split their dual meet with Ripon College on Saturday at Kohler Pool.
  The Lawrence men defeated Ripon 102-57, and the Red Hawks defeated the Lawrence women 111-104.
  "There's been a lot of great energy in the pool so we're looking forward to the next few weeks," Lawrence coach Jody Riskowski said. "We're working on strong race tactics, which will help us swim and dive even more competitively."
    On the men's side, Wiley Curtis swam to victory in a pair of events. Curtis won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:03.71 and took the top spot in the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.11.
    Will Phillips grabbed first in the 50-yard freestyle in 23.05 seconds. Michael Thorson, who also took second in the 200 IM, won the 1,000 freestyle in 11:05.07. Spencer Phillips was a winner for the Vikings in the 100 freestyle in 54.85 seconds.Â
  Lawrence's 400 medley relay team won with a time of 3:53.25 and the 400 freestyle winner took first in 3:27.50.
  Jackson Bertman swept two rounds of the 1-meter diving. Bertman took first with scores of 240.30 and 173.00.
  On the women's side,Â
Irina Starostin won a pair of events for the Vikings. Starostin took the top spot in the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.55 seconds and was first in the 100 butterfly in 1:03.97.Â
  Lawrence's 400 medley relay team took first with a time of 4:27.44.

Olivia Martin swept two rounds of 1-meter diving with scores of 149.85 and 122.75.
