APPLETON, Wis. — The Lawrence University men's and women's swim and dive teams hosted UW-Whitewater and Lake Forest College on Saturday afternoon at the Buchanan Kiewit Aquatic Center. The Vikings recorded several strong performances throughout the meet, highlighted by event victories and solid depth across the lineup.
On the men's side, senior Jackson Bertman led the way by sweeping both diving events. Bertman claimed first place on the 1-meter board with a score of 282.55 and followed with another victory on the 3-meter board, scoring 253.95. Bryan Haddad Zamorano added to Lawrence's effort with fourth-place finishes in both diving events.
In the pool, freshman Michael Branham posted a fifth-place finish in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:57.66 and placed sixth in the 100 freestyle (54.04). Henry Ambrose contributed with an 11th-place finish in the 50 freestyle and a seventh-place swim in the 100 backstroke. Leslie Cleveland represented the Vikings in both the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke.
The Lawrence women were led by senior Mattie Letendre, who tied for first place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:01.74. Letendre also helped anchor the Vikings' 'A' 200 freestyle relay team to a third-place finish to close the meet.
Freshman Viv Affatato turned in a strong performance on the boards, placing second in the 3-meter diving event with a score of 206.00 and finishing fifth on the 1-meter board. Olivia Martin added depth with sixth-place finishes in both diving events.
In the pool, Mattie Ramont placed fifth in the 50 freestyle and fourth in the 500 freestyle, while Ella Lee and Kiran Jayasinghe contributed solid swims across multiple freestyle events. Lawrence's women capped the meet with a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay.
