NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- Lawrence University senior
Cristyn Oliver led the Vikings to ninth place at the NCAA North Regional Championships on Saturday at Carleton College.
  Oliver placed 18th as she covered the 6,000 meters on the Bill Huyck Championship Cross Country Course in 22:38.5. Hannah Preisser of Carleton won the individual title with a time of 21:24.6.
    The Vikings finished with 275 points, and UW-La Crosse won the regional title with 63 points.Â
  Oliver will now wait to see if she has qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships, which are set for Nov. 23 in Terre Haute, Ind. The NCAA will select a number of teams from each region to compete in the national meet, and individuals not on one of the selected teams are also chosen for the national championships. Oliver also qualified as an individual for the NCAA Championships in 2021.

Mila Westra turned in a solid performance as she finished 39th in 23:11.6.
Edythmae Frodl was next for the Vikings as she took 50th in 23:29.1, and right on her heels was fellow senior
Riley Winebrenner, who placed 57th in 23:38.7.
Faith Onukaogu completed the scoring for the Vikings as she finished 111th in 24:52.7.

Amelia Wiesner took 114th in 24:53.7, and
Jane Partsch completed the contingent of Lawrence runners by taking 136th in 25:23.0.
  On the men's side, the Vikings placed 17th in the team standings with a score of 555. La Crosse also took the men's title with a mere 40 points.Â
  Finn Lee led the Vikings as he finished 86th by covering the 8,000 meters in 26:25.6. Mohammed Bati of Augsburg College won the individual title in 24:20.3.
  Ryan Cassiday was next for the Vikings as he finished 92nd in 26:36.6, and Sam Brewer raced to 118th in 27:13.8. Nick Hansen cmae in at 129 for the Vikings in 27:29.2, and teammate Caleb Hardy was a step behind in 130th place in 27:30.4.Â
  Owen West was 139th in 27:41.1, and Zach Meyer completed the slate of Lawrence runners as he finished 152nd in 28:02.1. Â
  Lawrence was the highest finisher among Midwest Conference schools for both the men and women. The Ripon women were 19th, nearly 200 points behind the Vikings, and the Ripon men were 21st.
