APPLETON, Wis. -- Three Lawrence University cross country athletes and both teams have been honored for academic excellence by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
    Edythmae Frodl, Cristyn Oliver and Mila Westra have all been named All-Academic Athletes. Both squads were chosen All-Academic Teams.
    To be chosen as an All-Academic Athlete, the student-athlete must have a minimum 3.30 grade point average and finish in the top 25 percent of the field at the NCAA regional. 
    Frodl (Fort Collins, Colo./Loveland Classical School) is a senior who was chosen for the second consecutive year. She is a double major in studio art and geosciences. Oliver (Redondo Beach, Calif./Bishop Montgomery), the 2024, 2022 and 2021 Midwest Conference champion, is a senior majoring in psychology. Westra (Beaver Dam, Wis./Beaver Dam) is a first-year student majoring in biology. Westra was the 2024 Midwest Conference Newcomer of the Year and an all-conference performer in cross country.
    The Lawrence women won the Midwest Conference team title and had six all-conference runners.
    The Lawrence women were chosen an All-Academic Team for the 16th consecutive year. To receive the award, a team must have a minimum 3.1 grade point average. Lawrence had a 3.46 grade point average.
    The Lawrence men posted a 3.23 grade point average and claimed the award for the ninth consecutive year and the 14th time in the last 16 years.
    On the men's side, Lawrence finished second at the Midwest Conference Championships and had six all-conference runners.
