Box Score     MONMOUTH, Ill. -- A strong showing in singles led the Lawrence University women's tennis team to a 4-3 Midwest Conference victory over Monmouth College on Saturday at Monmouth Tennis Stadium.
    Lawrence won four of the six singles matches to claim the victory and improve to 2-1 in the conference and 5-3 overall.
    Madi Mishica, playing her first fall season of tennis with the Vikings, won her first collegiate singles match. Mishica posted a 6-2, 6-3 win over Madison Springer at No. 6. Lawrence also got a straight-sets win at No. 5 as Fanta Jatta won 6-4, 7-5. Logan Kane put together a nice win at No. 3 with a 7-5, 6-4 victory to pull the match back to even at 3-3.
    Lawrence then got a three-set win from Clara Hills at No. 2 as she defeated Natalie Labicki 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 to seal the victory for the Vikings.
    Hills teamed with Tess McGlenn at No. 2 doubles for a 6-3 win, but Monmouth claimed the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 3.
