GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. ā The Lawrence University men's and women's swimming & diving teams delivered a standout performance over the weekend at the Calvin University Invite, competing against a deep field that included
four NCAA Division II programs. The Vikings rose to the challenge sending athletes to the finals each night and securingĀ multiple career -best swims numbers and record-breaking performances in multiple events.Ā

Zoey Zeigler highlighted the women's team with an exceptional weekend, qualifying for finals on all three nights of competition. Zeigler posted two major personal bests, swimming a
25.08 in the 50 freestyle and a
54.85 in the 100 freestyles. She continued this dominant day during her relays which includedĀ theĀ 200-relay team of
Matilda Ramont,
Kiran Jayasinghe,
Piper Smart who would go on toĀ cut an incredible
7.74 seconds off their seed time, finishing with a new best of.Ā
1:58.34. The women's 800 free relay team would go on to finish 14th overall in a very competitive field that included higher level NCAA Division schools.Ā The women saw multiple performers reach the finals i their individual events including, Mattie Ramont in the 200 back, Piper Smart also in the 200 back, and Kiran Jayasinghe in the 200 Fly.Ā Ā Viv Affatato and
Olivia MartinĀ also both secured
season-best scores in the 3m diving event, capping off a strong weekend for the diving squad.
On the men's side,
Will Phillips produce the most electric moment of the meet. He broke the
50-freestyle school record twice in the same day, going
21.07 in prelims before lowering it again to
21.06 in finals. Phillips also reached finals all three nights and secured a
top-16 finish in the 100 freestyles for an all-around impressive weekend. The men's side also had their share of finalist with Sebastian Stacy qualifying in theĀ 100 freestyle,
Jackson Bertman continuing to find success at the 1m dive, and
Henry Ambrose and
Leslie Cleveland in the 100m breaststroke.Ā
