MOUNT VERNON, Iowa -- The Lawrence University men's tennis team closed out the regular season with a 5-2 Midwest Conference loss at Cornell College on Saturday.
    Andrew Larson and Xander Priest both picked up singles wins for the Vikings. 
    Larson was a tight match at No. 1 against Trent Devore. Larson won 7-6, 7-6, taking a 7-4 victory in the first-set tiebreaker and a 7-3 win the second-set tiebreaker. Priest won the opening set 6-3 against Edwin Holyoake at No. 5, but Holyoake took the second set 6-2. Priest won the super-tiebreaker 10-6 to claim the match.
    Lawrence returns to action next weekend as it finishes the season at the Midwest Conference Championships.
