APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University track and field standout
Will Eggert earned one of the Midwest Conference's weekly awards.Â
  Eggert (Emerald, Wis./Glenwood City) was chosen as the Men's Field Performer of the Week following his victory in the javelin at the Viking Twilight on April 16.
  Eggert, a senior, had a winning throw of 153 feet, 3 inches, to win the event by more than nine feet during the home meet at Whiting Field. Eggert leads the Midwest Conference in the javelin after a throw of 169-2 at UW-Oshkosh on April 11.
  This is the first Performer of the Week honor for Eggert, and the first award of the outdoor season for the Vikings. The last time Lawrence won the men's Field Performer of the Week honor was April 13, 2021, when Zach Burke claimed the honor for his performance in the javelin.
  Lawrence has now won five Performer of the Week honors during the 2025 track season with the first four coming indoors.
Leo Hagberg won Field Performer of the Week for the men, Mila Westra won the women's Track Performer of the Week award twice, and Irene Yank won the same honor once.
  The Vikings return to action on Saturday when they travel to De Pere, Wis., for the St. Norbert Invitational. Â
