APPLETON, Wis. -- Three Lawrence University baseball players have been selected for the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.

Zach Leslie,
CJ Filipek and
Shane Foley were all chosen for their work in the classroom.Â
  A senior first baseman, Leslie (Chicago, Ill./University of Chicago Lab) was chosen for the academic all-district team for the third consecutive season. A member of the Academic All-Midwest Conference team and National College Athlete Honor Society, Leslie is a chemistry major with a 3.91 grade point average.Â
  A two-time All-Midwest Conference selection, Leslie hit .333 this season with one double, one homer, 22 runs batted in and 14 runs scored. A career .333 hitter, Leslie finished his time at Lawrence 32 doubles, one triple, 15 homers, 136 RBIs and 107 runs scored. His impressive career .456 on-base percentage was helped by a school-record 54 hit by pitches and 76 walks.Â
  Foley (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa), a senior relief pitcher, was selected for the academic all-district team for the second time. A mathematics major with a 3.80 grade point average, Foley also is a member of the Academic All-Midwest Conference team and National College Athlete Honor Society.Â
  A 2025 All-Midwest Conference selection, Foley posted a 3-1 record with five saves and a 3.44 earned run average while serving as the team's closer. He finished his career with a school-record seven saves and six victories.
  Both Leslie and Foley were key members of Lawrence's Midwest Conference championship teams in 2022, 2024 and 2025.
  Filipek (Huntley, Ill./Huntley), a sophomore first baseman/designated hitter, was chosen in his first year of eligibility. Filipek is a physics major with a 3.78 grade point average. He enjoyed a breakout season in 2025 by hitting .301 with 11 doubles, seven homers, 44 RBIs and 20 runs scored while helping the Vikings to their second consecutive league title.
  To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average. The student-athlete must also meet the minimum playing requirements.Â
