APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University had 11 senior student-athletes inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society, one of the nation's most prestigious academic honor societies.Â
  Softball, women's soccer and women's track and field had two selections apiece with baseball, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's swimming and women's swimming all represented as well. Lawrence had the most selections among the 38 student-athletes inducted from the Midwest Conference.
  Founded in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa has championed education in the arts and sciences, fostered freedom of thought and recognized academic excellence.Â
