BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — The Lawrence University women's tennis team fell 6-1 to Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday at the Evergreen Racquet Club.

The match began outdoors before weather forced the two teams inside, with Illinois Wesleyan sweeping the three doubles matches to claim the opening team point.

Clara Hills and Logan Kane battled at the top doubles position before falling 6-3 to Amber Ehrlich and Olivia Bell. Misora Sky Shinohara and Tess McGlenn also dropped a 6-3 decision at No. 2 doubles, while Madelena Priest and Arisa McCullough fell 6-1 at No. 3.

Hills responded in singles play with Lawrence's victory of the afternoon. Playing at No. 1, Hills defeated Ehrlich in straight sets, winning a tight opening set 7-6 before taking control in the second for a 6-3 victory.

Kane fell 6-3, 6-3 to Alassea Michel at No. 2 singles, while McGlenn turned in one of Lawrence's strongest battles of the day at No. 3.

McGlenn edged Katie Van Heuklon 7-6 in the first set before Van Heuklon answered with a 6-3 victory in the second. The match then went to a deciding tiebreaker, where Van Heuklon prevailed 10-3.

Shinohara fell 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4 singles, while McCullough dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision at No. 5. Rachael Pofahl rounded out the Lawrence lineup at No. 6, falling 6-2, 6-0.
