We are pleased to announce the hiring of Kayla Wiltzius as the new Head Swimming and Diving Coach & Director of Aquatics. Kayla joins us with an impressive background and a proven track record in the swimming community.
 
Kayla comes to us from her most recent position as Head Swim Coach and Aquatics Director at Greater Green Bay YMCA, where she has served since June of 2022. During her tenure there, Kayla demonstrated her leadership and expertise by significantly increasing team participants. Her athletes have consistently achieved high levels of success, with five swimmers reaching Nationals and one advancing to Futures. Her specialty lies in technique, with a particular passion for coaching butterfly and breaststroke. Over her coaching career, she has guided athletes to State Competitions every season, with several making the podium.

Also joining Kayla on staff is Lawrence and Swim and Dive alum Stella Macfarlane. Stella joined the staff in a volunteer back in Septemeber as a volunteer but has since then been promoted to the official assistant coach position.  During her time at Lawrence Stella was force in the pool and also racked up a many athletic awards including, Viking Award for exceptional leadership skills, and earned academic all conference each during her time at Lawrence. We are excited for Stella to join us and continue to make her mark on the Lawrence Swim and Dive program.
 
The administration at Lawrence is equally excited about Kayla's appointment. A statement from Director of Athletics, Jason Imperati, highlights her suitability for the role: "Kayla is exactly the kind of leader we want for Lawrence swimming and diving—energetic, relationship-driven, and deeply connected to the regional swimming community. Her passion for the sport and her ability to develop strong relationships with student-athletes make her an outstanding fit for Lawrence. We're excited for the future of the program under her guidance."
 
Reflecting on her new role, Kayla expressed her enthusiasm: "I am so excited to coach Lawrence's swim and dive team! We look forward to a great season ahead! Let's dive into a great season!"
