Wunderlich, Vanden Acker pace Vikings at Spartan Shootout

Anna Vanden Acker grabbed second place in the triple jump at the Spartan Shootout on Saturday.
    DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The Lawrence University women's track and field team picked up one win and a runner-up finish on Saturday at the Spartan Shootout at A.Y. Anderson Track.
    Eli Wunderlich ran to victory in the women's 5,000 meters in 22:35.30 to forge a two-second margin of victory. 
    Anna Vanden Acker jumped to second in the triple jump with a leap of 32 feet, 9 inches. Teammate Ashlee Long also recorded a jump of 32-9 to finish third as Vanden Acker won the tiebreaker between the two jumpers.
    Morgan Cross grabbed fourth in the long jump with a distance of 15-5.5, and Irene Yank recorded a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.26 seconds.
    The top finish on the men's side went to Leo Hagberg, who took fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 43-1.25.
