DE PERE, Wis. -- Ray Wetzel-Meehan won the 3,000-meter steeplechase Saturday to lead the Lawrence University track and field teams at the St. Norbert College Invitational at Schneider Stadium.
  Wetzel-Meehan raced to victory in 10:06.69, and teammate Max Reemtsma took third in 10:27.97.Â
  Nick Hansen narrowly missed breaking the Lawrence record in the men's 1,500 after a tough battle with UW-Oshkosh's Cameron Cullen. Cullen nipped Meyer at the line with a winning time of 3:59.15. Hansen was second in 3:59.35, and Lawrence's Finn Lee was third in 4:01.96.
  It was another battle for the title in the women's 1,500 where Lawrence's
Cristyn Oliver took on Ella DeBruyn of NCAA Division II Northern Michigan University. DeBruyn ran to first in 4:48.61 with Oliver taking second in 4:52.05 and Lawrence's
Edythmae Frodl placing eighth in 5:04.94.

Gaby Skorczewski placed in two events for the Vikings as she took third in the 400 hurdles in 1:10.90 and fourth in the 400 in 1:00.89.
  Lawrence placed runners in the top five in both the women's and men's 800.
Mila Westra was third in the women's 800 in 2:18.23, and Zach Meyer was fifth in the men's 800 in 1:56.11.
    Sam Brewer grabbed fourth in the men's 5,000 with a time of 15:49.87, and teammate Caleb Hardy was sixth in 16:06.73. Lawrence placed two runners in the women's 5,000.
Jasmine Moldenhauer took seventh in 20:56.76, and
Natalie Anderson was eighth 21:12.32.
  The men's 4x400 relay team of Tristan Zoo, Alex Luckett, Bergen Thorson and Meyer took fifth in 3:34.45. The women's 4x400 team of Oliver,
Riley Winebrenner,
Jane Partsch and
Mari Rummel was eighth in 4:43.83. The women's 4x100 relay team of
Morgan Cross,
Irene Yank, Skorczewski and
Ella Fajardo-Wilde took sixth in 53.12 seconds.
  Leo Hagberg led Lawrence athletes in the field events as he took third in the triple jump with a leap of 44 feet, 4.25 inches. Will Eggert placed eighth in the javelin with a throw of 130-2.
