RIPON, Wis. --
Mila Westra and Zach Meyer both broke the Lawrence University record in the 800 meters on Saturday at the Dick Hendricks Invitational at the Willmore Center.
  On the women's side, Westra raced to victory in the 800 meters in 2:17.67, which broke the school record of 2:18.01 set by Shelley Ebert back in 2002. Westra was a runaway winner in the event as she topped the record-place runner from Carroll University by five seconds.Â
  Meyer finished second in the men's 800 after a tight battle with Charlie McCurdy of Marquette University. McCurdy edged Meyer by .12 seconds with a winning time of 1:55.67. Meyer's time of 1:55.79 broke the school record of 1:56.09 set by Don Smith in 2002.
  Nick Hansen was Lawrence's other winner on the day as he raced to a dominating victory in the 3,000 in 8:46.64. He finished 43 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher from Wisconsin Lutheran College.
    The women's sprint medley relay team of
Morgan Cross,
Clara Lyford,
Irene Yank and
Laura Henze placed second in 4:46.51. The men's sprint medley relay team of Tristan Zook, Brendan Cross, Bergen Thorson and Alex Luckett took second in 3:45.83.
  The men's 4x400 relay team of Luckett, Meyer, Thorson and Reuben Keuler took second in 3:33.74. The women's 4x400 team of
Gaby Skorczewski,
Ella Fajardo-Wilde, Westra and
Jane Partsch was third in 4:23.06.

Natalie Anderson raced to second place in the 5,000 with a time of 20:58.86, and Thomas Popoca was fourth in the men's 5,000 in 16:28.97 with teammate Caleb Hardy taking fifth in 16:39.08. Ray Wetzel-Meehan grabbed sixth place in the mile in 4:38.91.
  Marcus Jackson took seventh in the 400 in 53.22 seconds, and Zook took eighth in the 200 in 23.41 seconds.
  Zook and Leo Hagberg led the way in the field events for the Vikings. Zook leaped to third place in the long jump at 21 feet, 0.5 inches. Hagberg placed third in the triple jump with a distance of 43-6.5. On the women's side,
Anna Vanden Acker took eighth in the triple jump at 30-5.5.
Natalee Kragie placed eighth in the high jump with a height of 4-9.
  The Lawrence men were fifth in the team standings with 69 points, and the women finished sixth with 37 points.
