GRINNELL, Iowa ā The Lawrence University men's track and field team delivered a strong all-around performance at the 2026 Midwest Conference Indoor Championships, highlighted by a conference title in the distance medley relay and multiple podium finishes on the track.
The highlight of the meet came in theĀ men's distance medley relay, where the quartet ofĀ Ryan Cassidy, Brendan Cross, Ryan Draginis, and Nick HansenĀ surged to a conference title with a winning time ofĀ 10:34.22.Ā
Finn Lee led the way individually with a record-breaking performance in the 3000 meters. Lee raced to silver in 8:25.79, setting a new Lawrence program record in the event. He returned later in the meet to earn another runner-up finish in the 5000 meters, clocking 15:01.76 to complete a standout weekend.
Zach Meyer added to the medal count with a second-place finish in the 800 meters, crossing in 1:57.34. Tristen Gray also scored in the event, placing eighth in 1:59.63, and later added an eighth-place finish in the mile (4:28.81). Nick Hansen contributed key points in the distance events as well, taking fifth in the mile (4:22.84) and seventh in the 3000 meters (8:42.61).
In the field events, Werner Norrbom led the pole vaulters with a fourth-place clearance of 3.30 meters (10-10), while Ryan Keller finished eighth at 2.85 meters (9-4.25). Peyton Mueller placed fifth in the high jump at 1.80 meters (5-10.75) and added a 10th-place finish in the long jump (6.32 meters / 20-9). Leo Hagberg rounded out the top-10 efforts with a ninth-place leap of 12.38 meters (40-7.5) in the triple jump.
