Illinois College set the tone early in the opener, scoring in multiple innings to build separation and secure a 9-0 win.
The Vikings battled defensively throughout but were unable to generate offensive momentum, as they were held without a hit despite drawing four walks in the contest.
Georgia Sedlack went the distance in the circle, working four innings and recording seven strikeouts against a strong Illinois College lineup.
Illinois College used consistent offensive pressure, including a four-run fourth inning, to close out the opener.

Lawrence came out with early energy in game two, jumping ahead with a two-run first inning. Gillian Guerriero delivered an RBI single, and Avery Chilson added an RBI to give the Vikings an early 2-0 lead.
Illinois College responded quickly, putting together a big second inning and continuing to add runs throughout the game to take control.
The Vikings recorded two hits in the contest, with Guerriero leading the offense, but were unable to slow Illinois College's momentum as the hosts completed the sweep.
Lawrence will look to regroup as the Vikings continue conference play on the road versus Grinnell College tomorrow afternoonÂ
