Waukesha, Wisconsin — The Lawrence University men's track and field team delivered a strong and well-balanced performance at the Wisconsin Private College Championships, finishing fourth overall with 77 team points in a competitive field.
The Vikings were highlighted by a pair of event victories, led by Zach Meyer, who won the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:20.21. Lawrence also saw a standout performance in the field events from Brady Dilworth, who claimed the javelin title with a throw of 50.49 meters (165-7).
Lawrence showcased impressive depth in the 1,500 meters, placing three runners among the top five. Meyer led the way with the win, while Nick Hansen finished third in 4:04.42 and Finn Lee added a fifth-place finish in 4:06.43, giving the Vikings a major boost in the team standings.
In the 5,000 meters, Will Beaumont delivered a strong performance to place third overall with a time of 18:45.05, adding valuable points for Lawrence in the distance events.
The Vikings also made their mark in the sprints and hurdles. Brendan Cross turned in a standout performance in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing third overall, while Alex Luckett added a runner-up finish in the 400 meters with a time of 53.53.
In the 100 meters, Lawrence placed two athletes in the top 10, as Benjamin Baldwin finished ninth (11.76) and Cannon Smithers followed closely in 10th (11.82).
Lawrence continued to score in the field events, where Jack McLaughlin earned a second-place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 46.56 meters (152-9), adding to the Vikings' strong showing alongside Dilworth's event win.
With contributions across distance, sprints, hurdles, and field events, the Vikings remained competitive throughout the meet and secured a fourth-place team finish.
