Waukesha, Wisconsin — The Lawrence University women's track and field team delivered a strong and well-rounded performance at the Wisconsin Private College Championships, highlighted by an event victory and multiple podium finishes against a competitive field.
Leading the way for the Vikings was Elena Hartung, who captured the title in the 100-meter hurdles with a winning time of 15.88, continuing her standout season. Hartung also added a strong performance in the 400 meters, finishing fourth overall in 1:02.67 to contribute key points for Lawrence.
The Vikings saw success in the distance events, where Lillian Courtnage-Dyke turned in a strong race to place third overall in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:52.60. In the 10,000 meters, Eli Wunderlich added another podium finish, taking third in 45:32.67.
Lawrence also found success in the sprints, placing multiple athletes in the 100 meters. Jorja Miller led the group with a seventh-place finish in 14.01, while Anna Vanden Acker rounded out the top 10 with a time of 14.90.
In the field events, the Vikings continued to build their team score with several strong performances. Anna Vanden Acker earned a third-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 9.29 meters (30-5.75).
In the throws, Lawrence showcased impressive depth. Ryleigh Truchon led the way in the discus with a fifth-place finish (35.24 meters / 115-7). In the hammer throw, Greta Vianden placed fourth with a mark of 38.50 meters (126-3), followed closely by Alease McLain, who finished just behind at 38.24 meters (125-5). Vianden also added another strong performance in the javelin, placing fourth with a throw of 25.94 meters (85-1).
