ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The Lawrence University men's cross country team placed 13th Friday at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational.

Sam Brewer paced the Vikings with a 42nd-place finish as Lawrence finished with 421 points. The University of Chicago finished first with 38 points, and Chicago's Sam Craig was the winner in 24:43.1.
  Brewer covered the 8,000-meter course at Saukie Golf Course in 26:37.5 to lead the Lawrence finishers.
Billy Daniels was next for the Vikings as he took 72nd in 27:18.8. Lawrence's
Adam Bruce took 90th in 28:02.9, and
Dylan Coble was 95th in 28:12.0.
Owen West completed the scoring for Lawrence by taking 122nd in 28:58.8.
  Lawrence was the top finisher among the Midwest Conference schools at the meet as Monmouth College finished 18th and Illinois College was 23rd.
