Beyer leads Vikings to fourth at Private College Championships

Collin Beyer ran to sixth place for the Vikings.
    APPLETON, Wis. -- Collin Beyer ran to sixth place Saturday to lead the Lawrence University men's cross country team to fourth place at the Wisconsin Private College Championships.
    Beyer, a rookie runner from Oregon, covered the 8,000 meters at Reid Golf Course in 25:26.1 to lead the Lawrence contingent. 
    The Vikings finished fourth with 82 points, just one point out of third. St. Norbert College won the team title with 56 points.
    Sam Brewer grabbed 12th place for the Vikings in 26:43.2, and Billy Daniels was 15th in 27:08.4. Adam Bruce was right on Daniels' heels and finished 16th in 27:11.3, and Dylan Coble finished the scoring by taking 33rd in 28:05.3.
    Spencer Kirsteatter of Carroll University was the race winner in 25:20.7.
