ELKHORN, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's tennis team knocked off Carroll University 6-3 on Friday night in a nonconference match at the Four Lakes Athletic Club.
  Lawrence grabbed two doubles victories to get the match started and then won four of the six singles matches to wrap up the victory.
  The No. 1 doubles team of
Andrew Larson and
Yui Ito rolled to an 8-0 victory over Jack McCaffery and Luke Barter to secure the first point of the night. The No. 2 team of
Rahul Sabnis and
Kenneth Penaherrera-Quiroz won 8-6 over Ian Hofland and Ryan Strupp to give the Vikings a 2-1 edge heading into singles play. It was the first collegiate doubles victory for Penaherrera-Quiroz.
  Larson earned the first singles point for the Vikings with a 6-2, 6-4 win over McCaffery, and Sabnis picked up the win at No. 4 singles when Strupp retired due to injury in the opening set. Lawrence then wrapped up the match victory when Ito posted 6-1, 6-0 victory over Hofland at No. 3 singles.
  Penaherrera-Quiroz got the final win for the Vikings and his first collegiate singles victory when he posted a 6-4, 6-3 triumph over Jordan Nowell at No. 6.
