JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The Lawrence University men's tennis team opened Midwest Conference play on Saturday with a 9-0 shutout of Illinois College at the Bruner Center.
  The Vikings started the day by sweeping the three doubles matches. The closest match came at No. 1 doubles where Lawrence's
Andrew Larson and
Yui Ito topped Ethan Sabotta and Derek Wilkinson 8-5.
Cam Strawn and
Rahul Sabnis were 8-3 winners at No. 2, and
Dylan Delgado and
Jonathan Hogan won 8-4 at No. 3.
  The toughest singles match also came at No. 1 where Larson topped Sabotta 6-2, 4-6, 10-7. Delgado also went to a super-tiebreaker at No. 3 where he stopped Derek Wilkinson 6-3, 6-7, 10-6.Â
  In the other four singles matches, the Vikings lost just 10 games total. Strawn was a 6-2, 6-1 winner at No. 2, and Ito won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4.
Jackson Gross took a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 5, and
Kenneth Penaherrera-Quiroz was a 6-2, 6-0 winner at No. 6.  Â
  Lawrence is now 3-10 overall and 1-0 in the league.
