APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's tennis team picked up its first victory of the season with a 5-4 nonconference win over Wartburg College Sunday morning at Fox Cities Racquet Club.
  Lawrence took two of the three doubles matches and then split the six singles matches.
  The Vikings started with 8-6 victories by the No. 1 doubles team of
Andrew Larson and
Dylan Delgado and the No. 2 team of
Hikaru Takemura and
Rahul Sabnis.Â
  Larson followed that with an impressive victory at No. 1 singles as he posted a 6-2, 6-1 win over Kaleb Flenker. Lawrence also picked up a 6-3, 7-5 victory by
Jackson Gross at No. 6 singles.
  The tightest match during singles play came at No. 2 where Takemura lost the opening set to Shimon Yonekura. Takemura came back to take the second set 6-4 and then won the third-set super-tiebreaker 10-5 to win the match.
  Lawrence improved to 1-2 on the season, and Wartburg fell to 1-5.
