APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's tennis team got the Midwest Conference season off to a winning start Saturday with an 8-1 victory over Illinois College at Fox Cities Racquet Club.
  The Vikings swept the three doubles matches to start the afternoon.
Jackson Gross and
Dillon Grade coasted to an 8-0 victory at No. 3 for the Vikings.
  Gross also didn't lose a game in singles as he defeated Antonio Loaiza 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6. The Vikings won a pair of tight matches near the top of the lineup as
Andrew Larson knocked off Illinois College's Ethan Sabotta 4-6, 6-4, and 14-12 in the super-tiebreaker.
Dylan Delgado took on Kyler Kantor at No. 3, and Delgado won a tiebreaker to take the first set 7-6 but dropped the second 3-6. Delgado then took the super-tiebreaker 10-7 to win the match for the Vikings.
